August in Almería without stress: swimming pool, coves and afternoon plans to escape the heat

August is, without a doubt, the most intense month of the Almeria summer. Temperatures can reach 35 degrees for much of the day, so the key to enjoying a peaceful vacation in the El Toyo area is to organize your schedules well.

The morning, until eleven or twelve, is the perfect time for the beach: the sun is not yet as strong and the waters of Cabo de Gata are at their calmest point. From that time on, the recommendation is to take refuge in the community pool, enjoy a nap with the air conditioning or take advantage of the fiber Wi-Fi to get work done if you are combining leisure and teleworking.

When the heat begins to subside, around seven in the afternoon, the El Toyo area is transformed. The bike paths that connect the urbanization with the beach are filled with families pedaling towards Plaza del Mar, the neighborhood's large leisure and restaurant space, with its artificial lake, terraces and, in the middle of August, open-air summer cinema and free concerts almost every week.

If you travel with pets, keep in mind that in the middle of August the asphalt and sand can reach very high temperatures at midday; Dog walks are always recommended early or late in the day, also taking advantage of the fact that many beaches in the nearby area allow access for animals outside of the blue flag season or in specifically enabled sections.
